I never get to the point where I get to check anything. I double click the icon and the cursor momentarily changes to the wait cursor then changes back and maybe 10 seconds later I get the error message.

Sounds like windows is hosed ... You may need to reinstall..

Problem solved. It actaully was caused by something i have never seen before, a bad USB drive. I keep my mill PC disconnected from the the internet so I don't have a bunch of overhead caused by firewalls, virus scans, popup blockers, etc. To put the software on my system I used a USB drive and it seemed to copy fine. In fact I tried it 3 times and each time it had the right byte count but when I tried to install it hanged as I described above. Instead I connected my PC to the net and downloaded and installed 3.042.014 flawlessly. Weird one. Thanks for the quick responses!
