Why Reset two times?
«
on:
June 24, 2011, 04:30:59 AM »
It's not a big problem, but I don't understand why I have to press Reset button two times to reset the limit switches of my new CNC router.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance

Thanks Hood.
For your information, I'm using a smooth stepper using the two ports with two breakout boards.

Cant seem to find a problem as its working fine here. I did have to change the active state of the limits/homes and E-Stop as I am just simulating but as long as you dont have any LEDs for them on the diagnostics page you should be fine.
The other thing I did was change to the standard screenset as I dont have the 1024VFD.set that you use, so might be worth a try with that.
Other thing is if you have any brains or plugins (other than SS) being used it might be worth disabling them to see if they could be the problem.

Ok Hood, I will disable the plugins I use and we will see.
I'm using the Huanyang VFD RS485 plugin and the USB joypad v2.0 so maybe the problem is with something of this.
Thank you very much

It is a switch bounce/ramp angle issue. I see it with a plasma table as well. When you go to back the axis off the limit it trips again then you hit reset again THEN you can back off the switch.
Just a thought, (;-) TP

Thank you BR549!
The switches are PNP proximity switches, and I use the PMDX-105 translator board because the signal is not good for my breakout board so it's like if I'm using a mechanical switch.
Tomorrow I will do some things to know if I can find a solution, now is too late here, I'm Spanish but living in Japan.
Thanks for your idea!!!

Today I was checking a few things.
My new machine is not finished so I'm doing some things. I was testing with the proximity sensors and one plate had a little bit of movement so maybe the sensor was detecting twice or more times.
I think it was the problem because after tighten the screws of the plate for sensor, I don't have that problem and when it's detecting, I have to reset only once.
Thanks Hood and BR549 for your help!!!
