Hello Helpers,
Where/How do you set the desktop so the Icons stay put ?
The Icons for the sites I frequent are there but the keep changing from the site icon to a blue Internert explorer "e".
I've looked everywhere that I know of and cant find anything.
Is it a firewall setting ? It is ON all the time but the icons keep changing.

Not sure I'm following, are you saying the icons are moving around on the desktop and you'd like to lock them in place?

You also mention they're changing visually to the blue "E" icon. What do they look like before they're changing?

   They are not moving around, they are always there.
But the image changes from the cool icon from the site to a generic e.

The aviation shortcuts used to have pretty little pictures. Now e's.

Yes, correct, I'm using IE7 and I use the favorites folders.

The only thing I know is if you right click on the desktop>arrange icons by>click on lock web on desktop
they will highlight like your showing. I save my shortcuts in favorites. Just a guess, but what happens if you create a short cut to the saved favorite to the desktop.

RICH, Send fav. to desktop.....still all blue e's.
Something must be blocking the icons from the websites.
Do you guys have the site icons in your fav folders ?

The only pictures that show up are called favicons at the top of each tab in IE7 and in the favorites. The webmaster has to install those and are a special size so I'm not sure if this is the same as what you're thinking of.

I use Mozilla Firefox instead of internet explorer. Like it better. My desktop icons look like this.
Damn computers will drive ya nuts.
