Rectangle wizard not putting out feed speeds. 2.79 bug?
« on: November 22, 2008, 07:51:02 PM »
I am trying to cut 2 simple rectangles using a 1/8" tailn bit for some molex plugs.

I have gotten the coordinates right, but the plunge feed and the feed rate is the same. I have entered 10% of max for plunge, and 100% for feed (10 IPM) is what I want, but in the rectangle wizard, it isn't putting out a feed rate, just a plunge feed of 1. Am I missing something?

Also, is there a prefered screen size for newfangled, there are a few wizards that have boxes covered by buttons and the 2.79 label is inside a title bar once a wizard is selected.

Here is the code:

Looks like a real bug. I see it also outputs an F word on a G00 line, which is wrong.

I have another report of a problem with the cut rectangle not getting depth right, so Im going to work on both problems.

Mach assume all screens are 1024x768 including the wizards. It is supposed to scale the screens if oyuuse a different screen size, but In not sure it always works. What screen resolution do you use?

1280x1024.

Thanks for checking this out.

Did you have trouble with the Inner option actually cutting OUTSIDE the line?

I have fixed the code to add F words, and I have fixed it to really do inner and outer, climb and conventional correctly-at least I think they are correct, Ive tried each option.

Attached is a zip file with these fixes. Ill leave it here a while as a test, then Ill make it the release version if there ar eno problems.

Just unzip the file in the Addons folder. You might leave it as Newfangled280, that way it wont overwrite your current version. Just be sure when you select it form the list you select the right one.

I deleted V2.80 and posted 2.81 to a new topic.

Inner Climb Cut rectangle does not preview while in wizard. But does in Mach3.Before first run of program there is a very wacky comp move, but when i stop then reset program and regen toolpath the comp then works fine.

You are right, I forgot to fix the preview code. One of the problems with the way VB works in Mach is that you cant share code, so the preview button is exactly the same code, without the spindle controls.

Ill fix that later today.

I dont understand the wacky comp move, maybe some mode you have set before it runs? Ill see if I can find anything, Im going to run a complete set of test cases later today.

Also noticed in 2.80. When doing an outside Rectangle that tool comes out of part turns off comp then back on and then tool goes back down to do next pass depth.
