I am going to convert my old Maxym machine which runs Pattern maker because my computer failed.  It also is runs off of the serial port.  I want to update it to run Mach3. I'm thinking of purchasing a system that I can just buy and plug in and go... Some thing with the controller and motors as one system. Does any one have any suggestions.

You may be able to use most of what you have at the moment, just depends on what signals your drives accept. If its step and direction then all you will need is to do a bit of rewiring. If its analogue input then you may be best to with new drives but that too will depend on the motor size (current voltege etc)
