How to?
« on: October 23, 2008, 10:47:18 AM »
Since I'm new. I'll start here with my first stupid question. Where can I find detailed information about programming capabilities? I am looking to purchase a Tormach milling machine and want to know what to expect from the std. software. I've looked at a the tutorials but I'm not seeing that part of it. I want to be at least able to index the 4th if not machine while rotating if possible.
What am I missing or not finding?

The included wizards  will let you do simple operations, but you really need to look at a CAM package.

Do you mean G code Programming for parts, or do you mean the unique ability of Mach to let you extend the program by writing Plug-ins or Wizards?

The Gcode is pretty well detailed in the Mach user documnets. There ar ealso documnets on writing wizards and plug-in in the Customizing docs and wicki on this site.

Thank you you guys answered what I needed to know. I can do basics but need CAM for the more complex.
