Speed related issue - Rutex?
« on: September 21, 2008, 06:17:27 AM »
Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my machine. I've not long got it functional and started playing with it and found that it works perfectly up to a point where I go too far with the motor tuning and then it starts to behave extremely eratically, to the point where it's completely random and out of control when I'm using the mpg to move the axis.

I don't know if this is an issue with Mach or the Rutex driver system I'm using. Any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks
Splint

Hi Splint,
I don't use an MPG, but all systems have a limit to the speed they will run at; you may have found your machine's limit.
Keep increasing your speed until you get erratic behavior, then back off it 10%, and usually that is about as fast as it will
run, unless you increase the voltage of your psu, or get stronger motors. ;)

Give it a try, and check back with your results.

 Good Luck! Glenn
