trouble with 2.53
« on: June 13, 2006, 03:26:50 PM »
I've loaded up mach3 1.90.05 (beta) with the new lazy cam 2.53.

Having trouble getting it to generate gcode files.  Often when i try to generate G-codes i get the microsoft serious error screen that kick me out of LC and shuts it down. I cannot prove it yet but it ususally follows trying to set the depth on the right hand side.

Left tool panel for set depth always causes the problem.

Other times when i go back to Mach3 the file and Gcodes do not exist. or show up on screen.

Any ideas

Tried it without Mach3.  Still same problems.
Here is the DXF file (pretty simple).
I import it, remove leadins on the two holes.
change hole from mill to to drill
Change other leadin to .25 units
grab holes and hit set depth on left tool bar.
Dies right there every time.

How do i get non-orthognal views with LazyCam ( i want to see depth passes)
It does not seem to work for me.

Use the middle mouse button to turn the view  and I will have a look at the file.

Brian could th error be cause by not having a tool assigned in the layer file.
i changed tool from 0 to 1 and was able to creat and run dummy file.  If so you may need to put some error checking in the code.

Also pressed create g coded button and returned to M3.  Display only showed small rectangle on toolpath display.  Had to hit display regen to see toolpath.

Problem is I don't know what I don't know - the learning curve is is always steep at first.
Keep up the good work

Ok Brian, i got another one for you.
still using the same DXF file.  I want to predirll hole off line.  The holes will be used to mount the stock to the fixture.
I now want to have one of the holes as my alignment (start) point.
When i mouse click on the origin to move it i get a microsoft error, and it shuts down.

Is ther another way to reposition the origin relative to my fixture.???

on the righthand side you can tell how far to move the origin OR you can move the origin in the DXF and tell LCAM not to move the origin in the load options
