Homing Order?
« on: August 15, 2008, 10:38:18 AM »
I used the search feature to look for methods of setting the homing order of mach and cant find anything other than request to home z first which makes sense for a mill.

I need for the x axis to home first on the lathe and then the z axis so my tool changer can get out of the way of the tailstock. Yesterday thats how it was working when I hit ref all , now it homes the z first and doesnt home the x axis at all .

The last software I was using had a simple screen to choose the homing order , how do I home x then z ?

Open the Ref All button and reorder them as you want.

Open your screen, operator tab, edit vb button. Ref all button should now be blinking. Click on it and the editor will pop open. You change the order in the script, save and thats it.

Which screen are you using for the lathe ?
The standard .lset does not use a script button for homing....not here anyway.
It's OEM 211 Home X, Z for Turn.
I'd make sure the homing is enabled and configured properly for BOTH axis's.
Easy enough to change it to a script button though, then set it up as in Mill and choose your order.

you guys and this software are just awesome .

Yep homing is configured and was working properly and in the correct order yesterday , for some reason it just stopped homing the x axis

I am using the blue screenset for lathe and it has the ref all home button

clicked edit vb button from pull down menu, changed to DoButton 22 then DoButton24 and its working perfectly . Thanks again and stay tuned for my next round of stupid questions , I will be diving into modbus and getting my PLC working today
