Mach3.041 FRO Slider problem
« on: July 22, 2008, 10:01:56 AM »
Hi ALL,
I was wondering if this is normal for all instllations of Mach3.041.
If you look at the pictures, the digits above the slider are cut off on their bottom half.....whether at 100% or any increment less than.   I've tried to correct this with screen4 but have not been able to make it appear as Brett's screenshot under the "implementing 3 MPGs thread"  http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,7625.0.html .
This problem here may seem trivial, but it just bugs me a little too much to ignore... ???

Does someone know how to fix or replace the slider?    Is this just something in my computer?

Thanks ,
John M  (Bloy)

John, I modified that set while beta testing the ROR. It think the problem was the size of the dro.  I can't remember exactly what it was but think that was it.  I can send you my screen set if youd like. Be warned though, it is modified and some of the basic functions of Mach have been mapped to other keys.

Thanks Brett,
I'd say yes, but I've got a few mods (buttons, DROs, LEDS, etc.) to my screens already set in for my usage.
I've tried altering the size and position of the slider thinking if I made it longer the green would not rise up to the % digits.  This worked in keeping the green from approaching the 100% digits (if I recalll properly) but the digits were still consistantly cut off at the bottom as in picture two above.

The DRO (from my limited knowledge) doesn't seem to be able to be altered separately from the entire slider unit.

It almost seems like the slider unit itself is created with this flaw.   I might look into flash and see if I could create a new one or manipulate the existing unit.

Maybe if you just posted the flash slider that you use..... Then I could insert it and see if the problem is resolved.
If not resolved then I can look further into my screens to pinpoint the problem.

Many thanks,
John Meissner  (Bloy)

John,

I just tried something for you. Just make the slider bar a little wider, and that seems to make the number a bit larger and then it's fixed!

Hey John, That was just a standard slider. I modified my set in Screen 4.

That is what I just did as well, this is not a flash screen that I modded-

I made the slider longer but didn't change the width.........

duh!!!again..... :-[

thanks for making it obvious for me!!

John (bloy)

.....just an added side note....just got back from an 85 mile round trip to retrieve a HON series 600 5 drawer lateral file cab.
Although the cost per mile was about 30 cents (total about 25 bucks) the virtually new cab was gotten for $50 ....still a good buy I'd say.   :)  Besides, I picked up some other longer items needed for plumbing.   Well, is that too much for a general storage cabinet???
