Motor Tuning issues
« on: July 11, 2008, 02:29:19 PM »
I have another annoying issue that has me stumped...

I'm trying to tune the motors using the rutex software but i cant get a line on the graph.

I'm using rutex 2010 drives, electrmotion 80v dc servo drives and electrcraft 1000 lines single channel encoders.

When the drive is powered it resists turning but when I go to the test screen the motor just runs continuosly and doesn't sound right.

Also it randomly gives a spi comm error (22 this afternoon) and I have to reset the drive.

Does anyone have any ideas before I douse the whole thing in petrol and set light to it!!

(yes its slowly driving me mad....)

Hi, HurcoMatt

Do you have "J1" pin 13 pulled  Low for "Logic low = SPI mode" and "J1" pin 14 to Data-out (in SPI mode) output to pin 1 on your 25 pin printer port. ?

I haven't tuned the 2000 series, Just the 9## series, Check the pin assignments and notes.

Hears a link to the manual.  http://www.rutex.com/us/home/index.htm

Hope this Helps, Chip
