MOTORS NOT TURNING !
« on: June 13, 2008, 04:46:09 PM »
 Hi !

I have downloaded Mach3 R2.63 recently and I am trying
to make it work on a PC running windows XP.  I have
been using this PC to control my home made
CNC router with KCAM4 software for a long time
without any problem.
I have decided to use Mach3 because after replacing
my cnc drives for geckodrives G210, I started having
problems with missing steps, and I guess they might
work correctly with Mach3.
Well, the problem after installation is the fact of the
motors are not running, although I can see the DROs
moving.  Also I checked the parallel port outputs with
a DMM, and I could see that changing direction, the voltage
changes on the direction pins, but, there are no pulses on
the step pins.
I have already watched the "troubleshooting video", but,
it didn`t help me to find the problem.
So, could anybody ,please give me some help ?

Thanks !

I recently downloaded and tried the newest version of Mach 3, v3.042.020, and on the first install it would exactly the same thing; show position changes on the DRO, but without moving my machine.

I reinstalled the old version, and it worked fine, and after installing the new one a second time, it began working fine.

After viewing similar responses on here, I'd say that you should try reinstalling v3 over itself.

Check field Axis Inhibits in tab Setting , if you see the LED is green, that mean this axis is inhibited, so it's can't be turn.

I would like to thank the people who sent suggestions to solve the problem and let them know that it has been solved changing  the "step pulse width".  After changing the value to 15, all motors started turning !!    C.HENRY
