Thanks to Hood for his help, NEW QUESTION
« on: June 07, 2008, 11:00:30 PM »
Hello all,
I'm running a Pentium III, 900mhz, 256m ram.
What should be my optimal Kernel speed setting as well as the pulse settings?
I've not noticed a considerable difference in the Kernel settings, but I have to set the pulse setting to something above 20 before I get any satisfactory results.
My steppers are of the typical ebay varity 2.25", I'm running 23volts through these with ballast resistors. So I'm not looking for out standing results.
Just the best I possibly can.

Peace
Neil

Neil,
Kernel speed will depend on your steps per and how fast you want to go. Anything higher is a waste. Do the math to find out how many pulses a second you'll need to send. As for pulse settings, try setting in config., ports and pins to 1/2 step Sherline mode. See if that helps.
