Bridge Port 2, Mach CNC fair price suggestions?
« on: May 09, 2008, 09:54:56 AM »
Greetings,

I have a pricing question, what do you think would be a fair asking price for a Bridgeport 2, (3 axis), with 1KW AC servos?
The mechanics of the machine are excellent you can still see the frosting on the ways, it has an oiler, and a quick change chuck, with 2hp motor.
It is of course driven by Mach 3.  I have about 12k in the machine.

I was gonna put it on E bay, but was curious what you guys think I should ask for it, or, do you think I would not get what I have in it, back out?

I need some more room in the shop, so this is next up on the list to move out.

not at current, but it is a standard BP2, nothing special on paint, just functional.

Scott mine is just a series 1, series 2 are much bigger, have box ways and the saddle extends full travel either side on the X axis and the table is never overhanging. Series 1 has dovetails on all axis and the travel is tiny, only 18" on X.
Dont really know the prices in the USA but for a series 1 in the UK with a Heidehain you are talking about $2000 to $3000, a series 2 will be double that or more. From a dealer you could probably double again but whether they get them sold is another mattter.
Having looked at eBay in the USA a while back the knee mills tend to sell for a lot more in the USA than they do in the UK.
