Sure Servo drives with Mach
« on: April 10, 2008, 05:23:13 PM »
Anybody here using the sure servo ac brushless drives from Automation direct with mach? Which pins on the sureservo do I attach the step, direction and common pins from my breakout board to?

The wiring on my encoders are labled A , -A   B, -B etc  , the encoder inputs on the drive are labled A, /A and so on  , is -A the same as /A ?  Thanks

Brian,

Thanks for the Cool time saving drawing!  Have you ever seen/tried the James Cullens' Sound Logic Encoder Interface with the ADC Sure Servos?  Any thoughts about devices like this?

Thanks,
Sid

Awwwwww  Dude!  All Work and No PLay makes Jack a dull boy!   ;)

I'll check around and see what I can find out.  I think I want to give it a go.

Thanks anyway!

I have a smooth stepper running the mill and I would like to have them tied in... but I need to stop working on the code to do that :)

So much to do and so little time.. You guys get to have all the fun in my eyes ! So keep up the good work and tell me how it works for you...

Thanks

My Sympathy for you just evaporated... I forgot that YOU are one of the "Chosen" who already posses the magical SmoothStepper.  At #69 on the list I'm a while away from even seeing one in real life.  I'm totally with you though- Mach 3, SS, Encoder interface, ADC Sureservos- THE WHOLE SHA-BANG!!!!  I'll let you know how it goes.

BTW- on the Plugins download page the link to DL the SS Plugin is gone- I know your swamped but, for those who are going to be receiving the Maiden release of the SS how can we get it?

Regards,
Sid
