Newfangled shapes

As many of you know cutting out control panels is NO fun... SO we at Newfangled Solutions have come up with an other new idea. What we have running now is a shape wizard that is part of the Add-on for mill. This shape wizard can take a gcode file and rotate, shiftX, shiftY scale and do cutter comp if file has cutter come. You may think okay what is so cool about that... Well I just did a file that has 6 DB25 cutouts 3 at 45deg and 3 more  at 135deg. The wizard will set the depth and the step depth of the file as well... SO why did I post???? I would like to know what shapes I should have added to this?

Potentiometer holes with the second, little hole for the locating pin.
Panel meters..... or am I missing something

Without seeing the wizard, I can't be sure if these are appropriate but:
Engraved dial markings, text etc..
XLR conntecters and their mounting holes.
IEC power connections.
Those pain in the ass, press fit cable clamps with thier flat sided holes.

At what point does your add in become a low end cad package?

It already is. :), but its not so low end. Just a differetn paradigm that most.

Often times I need to make control panels for arcade games.

I would like to easly be able to recess the joystick into the material.
Lets say the material was 16mm thick, I want to clear the area in the material so that it is 11mm deep, and then drill the holes as shown in the picture attached.

I would like to have squares with rounded corners.

It would also be cool to have an arsenal of regular shapes that you could overlay onto each other and then group them so that you could then assign either area clearance or cut inside / outside the shape.

Benny I can't see your pic's :( I think it hates me  :'( ....
Benny do you have my wizard set? If you don't  have it I may have a gift for you  ;) There is a new wizard that is cur rectangle that will cut the inside or the out side with a helical path. I have been DREAMING about building one of the arcade deals ::) I am thinking about adding in one more goodie for cutting out a logo. I have an Artsoft logo that I have been playing with and it seems very cool.

Well time to get back to making code ... If you can get the file thing fixed I will post some stuff up.
