Laser Digitizing
« on: April 27, 2006, 09:45:31 PM »
Hello I am trying this concept out and here it goes.
I just purchased 2 laser dispersion sensors on ebay cheap, for those of you who don't know what this is it is basically a laser micrometer with an analog signal output.
I plan to interface this with a converter from USDigital which will convert the analog signal from the laser to quadrature signal to the GRex.
I plan to move the laser over the object taking measurements along the way.
Accuracy with a 1" window will be about .0005 with a 2" window about .001.
Now I need something to write some digitising G-Code that doesn't require the Z axis to move up and down as with a contact probe.
Any help would be great.
