feed hold switch question
« on: January 09, 2008, 08:43:54 PM »
I am trying to finish up the re-fitt of one of my machines from desk to mach and I am down to just the cycle start switch and feed hold.

Looking at the OEM codes I see 1000 for cycle start , is setup of this switch as simple as assigning the port and pinĀ  my cycle start switch is attached to at OEM Trig 1 in inputs/ports and pins along with 1000 in the hotkey window?

My feedhold switch is a normaly open latching type switch so in desk when its pushed in the pin its attached to is grounded and the feed is paused until the switch is pushed again , unlatching the switch and opening the circuit. is this the type switch needed to work with mach or do I just need a momentary like the cycle start and estop switches?

Yup, you will set it up as you did your cycle start. The switch you have can be used but I would use a momentary for it. I would rather have a locking switch on the e-stop too. Maybe you could swap them?

I have been watching the setup video and have looked thru the pdf file and I am not quite sure where the oem code is placed. I have my cycle start and feed hold switches installed and assigned to the proper pins in ports and pins input , just not sure what the next step is.

That is how you can do it. Not sure if I understand your question.

How do I enter the value of 1000 in the hotkey window? When I click on it I get a popup that says press any key to asign , as soon as I hit 1 on my keyboard it enters 97 , cannot just type 1000 in directly , I assume its linking the 1 key  to that function

Oh, I'm sorry. You want to enter it in the OEM Codes, external buttons.  I have attached a couple of screen shots to help. Look at trigger 1.
