Limit Switch help!
« on: January 08, 2008, 11:31:57 AM »
We are currently using Mach3 software through a ncPod.

When we hit our limit switch, our emergency stop is working...but it seems our motors do not stop until the next line of code is active.
This is a problem because our machine will not stop if for the current set of code, it is jogging a long distance.

Is there any where in the software that will cause the motors to stop as soon as we have the estop triggered?
If there is no software change we can make, we will just end up hardwiring the fix to get the motors to shut off as soon as it is triggered.

Rartz,

Do you have your EStop wired in series with your limit switches?

Not sure exactly how the ncPod works but I presume its a problem with the PlugIn, maybe it has a buffer that needs cleared? Best bet would be to talk to the makers of the pod and see what they say.

I do not think it is.  I believe that is what we are going to do if there is no software setting we can change to get it to work like we need it to.
