First off i am building a 2-axis waterjet.

we have a camsoft/galil setup right now with an ICM 2900 breakout board.

I am duplicating this setup and i am tryiing fo figure out if i should go with Mach 3 and if i do what card is the most robust.
Galil/ Gecko etc.

Im powering some servos and would like to hit them with a analog signal.

I also need accell/decel control.] like camsofts "notso"SmartPath.  Its actually not so bad itself.
this functionality allows the moves to adjust within the curved geometry at predetermined math relationship between curve diameter and a pecentage of the normal travel speed specified.

Given the camsoft pricing ii am willing to pay a developer that can help us out with this.  Were not trying to go totally homebrew here.

THanks for the comments.

I can help you develop the machine. Which Galil card do you have??
If your Drives are Analog signal inputs then you will have to stick with the Galil,
If your drive have the ability to take Step and dir then your in a little better boat.
If you want (as a last resort), you could sell your current drives/servos and go with
Sure Servo AC servos from Automation Direct, in where Mach can drive them natively,
Plus, you can set up custome accel/decel profiles in the Drives themselves.
I have emailed you as well.

Ask Brian to make sure that his Galil plug in will work with that card.

If it does then your set. It is no harder than setting up ports and pins in regular mach

I use touch screens on both my Lathe and Mill and the latest retrofit will also have one. I am also making a pendant for the latest mill, see pic below, it has Peter Homanns ModIO inside it, not had a chance to finish things yet but hopefully things will quieten down a bit soon and I will get peace to finish my mill.

I had an ELO screen on my lathe at first but I discovered the slightest trace of coolant  running down the screen would give undesirable effects (buttons getting pressed etc) It was a very nice, clear and accurate screen but it was just too dangerous. The one I had was SAW technology, what is yours?

Scott, I got my screen from UK eBay, it was new in box and was a kiosk type screen, I didnt know what technology it was when I bought it but with it being meant for a kiosk I wrongly presumed it would be  water resistant, was wrong though LOL. I have resistive on the lathe now (same screen just swapped the ELO overlay with a resistive one) and on the Mill I have a capacitive one, both of them work well.

Just wonder where you connext the pendant ? on the PC or the Galil DMC 4070 ( stand alone ethernet ).
Thanks
