Selecting Post Processor
« on: January 04, 2008, 02:28:58 PM »
Hello Everybody,
How do you go about choosing the proper PP ?
I'm tinkering with SheetCam and they offer 66 different PP's. (see below)
I'm using M3 Mill and all I saw in the list was M2 stuff.....No M3Mill but it seems to work OK.
Just curious........

Thanks,
RC

Hmmmmm......Well, OK.
Maybe that was a bit too challenging....or perhaps just too silly.
Most likely the latter.    :D

Probably just one more little thing to make everything in this business as proprietary as possible.

See Ya,
RC     ;)

Hi, RC

Would have thought someone using SheetCam would have commented by now.

The Mach2 post should be close, Which one is working good for you now ?

Using BobCad V 22 hear.

Thanks, Chip

Well Hello Chip..And Greetings.
Mach2.post seems to be doing fine. It's the only one I tried though.
By their description, I suppose many of them would work OK with Mach.
I'm just running in simulation. Learning as I go.
I downloaded SheetCam demo, 100 or so line limit. Pretty neat.
I wish LCam had a line limit as well instead of no G at all for unlicensed users.
Brett told me that "You're the Man" when it comes to LCam.
I hope we get more turn functions in LCam. The turn wizards take care of most stuff though, I just patch several together and fill in the blanks.
See Ya.
Thanks for responding,
RC

Hi, RC

There's no limitation that I'm aware of on g-code and Mill,

Lathe, I didn't remember that it wouldn't even post single line code without PRO Lic..

Just some of the Pro features, Pocketing, Offsetting, Foam 2d and Lathe

On a good day I have problems with lathe, Scheduled for a re-make so far back well........

Thanks, Chip

Chip,
Yes...it's very limited in Turn as well as Mill for offsets and pocketing...my version anyway.
That's the only reason I'm using Sheet.
Thanks,
RC
