Mach 3.00 problems
« on: January 02, 2008, 07:58:17 PM »
I downloaded and installed 3.00 and I have been having some problems:
I am running on XP-Pro on a recent and fast computer and a Taig Micromill DSLS 3000.  The G-code worked previously and after reinstalling 2.58 all was OK again.  #2 & #3 are repeatable problems; I only tried the installation once.

1.   Upgrading previous versions has worked just fine by installing it in the Mach 3 folder.  This time some of the pin configurations were changed and of course it took a while to realize what had happened.
2.   On a rapid move of a couple of inches, it tried to accelerate too fast and it got out of sync after about half an inch.  It is not a speed problem since it never had time to get up any speed.
3.   The feed rate override control quit working in the middle of the program.  I had it set to 200% and it worked fine cutting pockets and then halfway through the program it drops the actual federate to 100% although the screen says 200%.

Sounds like you need to re-tune your motors as the acel sounds like it may be higher than your machine can handle.  Can you post the g-code and tell us at what line it is reverting back to 100%?

;D If you could see the things I have in my head, you would be laughing too. ;D

My guard dog is not what you need to worry about!

Thanks Brett for a fast response.
The motors and acceleration is fine and at a safe value and it works fine in 2.58 before and after testing with the 3.00 version so I am assuming it is relating to 3.00.  Regardless, I played with it to make sure it was not accidentally changed.

The feed override stops working on line N500 maybe plus/- one line.  It still displays a 200% setting but the actual feed drops down to 100%.  Strange!
The same code works fine in 2.58

By the way, is it proper to post code directly in a message or should it be uploaded somewhere?

I have downloaded the mach3 2.00 verson and had problems with it, so i took it out of my computer and downloaded the mach3 3.00 verson and the reboot came up before i finished but i still done like it  said and rebooted. It took me straight to the finish, in you tutorial video there was a place to check for mill use or symulate and i never seen that part, also it just downloaded the 2.00 verson again? I have watched the tutorials and the written verson but when i download mine it seems to never work the way your tutorial does?? Would it work better to just buy the Lic. program over the free download, I just did'nt want to spend the money until i was sure i could work the machine??  i can move the up and down key and make the Y axis move but the X and Z will not move. I am lost???  Wil
