a- axis acts eratic HELP! PLEASE!
« on: November 17, 2007, 01:45:24 AM »
Hi
New of course to the group.
I have built a cnc route with two screws, two motors for x-axis. the right hand screw is a-axis slaved to the x-axis thur mach3.

All motors are the same and all are wired the same and connected to gecko's 201s to breakout board c11 from cnc4pc.

All my other axis run fine.
My problem is a-axis motor runs some times , sometimes it runs in the wrong direction, and sometimes it makes noise but doesn't move when jogging. It also makes a lot of noise during stopping and starting. ???

I done swapping of motors and it seems only on that a-axis.
I have messed with motor tuning.  I have tried both drivers original and special and I  get some pikes as high as 55000 long time and as low as 26000, but don't know enough about that to know if that's bad Numbers or not.
 Any help would be great!
Glen

Hi, Glen

Look like you dropped through a Crack Hear, Sorry about that.

Have you swapped your Gecko's around.

What's your Power Supply Volt's Amp's,.

CPU speed, XP or 2000.

Looked at the Tutorials Above, Documentation, Optimize, There are programs like QuickTime that can cause Problems.

Are X and A set up exactly the same in, Ports & Pins, (step/Dir LowActives the same), Motor Tuning, (Steps Per, Vel & Accel), Home & Limits. ( Reversed un checked).

Thanks, Chip
