Why in the world are we required to re-input essential probe specific variables every time we use the UI?
Is there no provision for storing specific variables prudent to the probes in use?
For instance, I have: 3D stylus type edge finder G31.0 (Retract 0.5mm, Probe Diameter 2mm, Touch Plate Height 0.0mm)
Tool Height Sensor portable type. G31.1 (Retract 10mm, Tool Dia. 0mm, Touch Plate Height, 20.0 mm)
Fixture plate mounted Gauge Block G31.2 (Retract 5mm, Tool Dia. 0mm, Touch Plate Height 24mm) and is used to establish Work Offset and Tool Height after that.
So once I have dialed in the WCS for . (only x and Y) using G31.0
I begin a sequence of ops on the first side of a part,
I have the raw stock mounted in the vice, and use the 3D edge finder to trigger Probe G31.2. I then use the G31.0 probe to create the offset btwn that and the stock. I then have to go back to the G31.2 probe reset variables and do the first tool height offset......
Having to re-input these simple variables every time we change the type of probe used creates the possibility for error and crashes.
thanks,
