Hello everybody,
I have been a Mach 3 user under Windows XP + parallel port for many years.
For a first machine which is a BZT milling machine.
And for a second machine that is homemade from a bzt milling machine base.
I have problems with this second machine. Year after year, I have added stepper motor axes, interaction with arduino board, servo motor, heating element,..... It worked well enough, but it's time to give it a facelift because too many wires in all directions and not enough resources on the parallel port to add an other axe....

I want to switch to a Novosun cnc V5 6-axis card via rj45 still from mach3 and the same PC. I already made a small machine 3 years ago with a novosun card of this type, but on a blank pc. So I had installed XP, mach3, novosun driver, and in a few hours I was already managing my axes well.

This time I'm struggling. I use the same PC in Windows xp and mach3 which was driving via the parallel port. I created a new profile under mach3.
In Config Plugins I have "CNCBOY-DigitalDream-PlugIn-Ver-3,0b" checked in green. The communication seems to be established between mach3 and Novusun card because I see relevant information (see screenshot)

For now, I've set up a few hotkeys for 6-axis moves, as well as inputs 3, 4, and 5 on X++, X-- and Xhome.
I connected a DMD5042E driver and a stepper motor to Vovusun's dir and puls X.

Problem: When I press the right arrow or left arrow (hot keys 39 and 37), the motor doesn't move. He remains stuck with resistance in his position. In the "program run" tab of mach3, the position indicators remain at 0.0000. I imagine that if I had wired my motor or driver wrong, the position indicator would still move. It's the same for the other 5 axes, nothing moves the display of their position.
I still went to see the motor tuning, and I'm surprised I can't make any adjustments. By default, I see steps per: 2000; velocity:120; acceleration:4; step pulse:5; dir pulse:5. If I change the velocity or acceleration settings, the blue curve disappears. I didn't have this kind of problem when in the past I had already changed or added engines.
To investigate a little more, I make a short circuit between 12V and Input3 or 4, and in the "diagnostics" tab, I don't see any signal light up.

Now I'm lost. I have no idea what or where to look. Does anyone have any idea what I can check please?

Hi Nicolas26,

Sorry but this forum does not support Novusun products and this thread refers; https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=24331.msg171954#msg171954
