Auto motor tuning
« on: June 23, 2025, 10:54:18 AM »
Hi, I know that on the mill side of Mach 3there is auto motor tuning. I am trying to tune the motors on a lathe using mach3 turn. Can I still use the auto tune from the mill side to tune the lathe. Thanks

I think the answer must be "no" because there isn't a "settings" tab.  However in Mill the auto calibration button just calls a button macro and you could probably copy that across to Turn with appropriate modifications and add a button, probably to the "Diagnostics" screen.  However, all the "turning" macro does is set steps per unit which is trivial to do by calculation provided you know the screw pitch, any gearing between motor and screw, steps per rev and microstepping factor for the motor.
