LPT to RTM200 issues
« on: May 06, 2025, 09:15:26 AM »
I have an old xp machine running one of our 3 axis routers. The computer is holding on to a thread and we are upgrading to a new tower. The 3 axis router is using an PMDX-126 Card and Geko motor drivers. The LPT port correctly controls all axis, spindle, probes and limit switches of the machine and has been running for years. I ordered the RTM200 to emulate the LPT port on the new tower we are building.

When I plug in the RTM200 and install the drivers on my new desktop and fire up Mach3, I can only get the probes and limit switches to work in the diagnostics tab. This tells me that the module is sending data correctly. However, no motor function or spindle.

I verified the motors and spindle are working by swapping out to the LPT port on the old machine.

Can you give me some advice on how to get the motors and probes to work? Signal is clearly being sent through the RTM200, as I can see my limit switches working under Diagnostic tab. However when I go to jog or move any motors, or activate the spindle, no motion works but i see the respective motor axis indicators tick up or down in the software.
