Since I couldn't find much info on this I want to share what I had to do for a relay spindle control.

First   I  bought a solid state relay on Amazon part # ZGT-25-DA.  For the AC side I wired the relay in series on one leg of the 110 volt power supply ( like wiring a light switch)to the router.  On the input side of the relay I wired the negative side of the relay  to the OT1 terminal, the plus side goes to the 12v terminal on the Novusun controller.

Settings were as follows:

Enabled output #1 and set to active low, port #to 2 and pin # to 1

On the Spindle set up screen set clockwise output # to 1 and CCW output # to 1  for the spindle control.  MAKE SURE nothing is checked on the motor settings.

The information on some videos and manuals stated the output port sourced 5v. I found this was NOT the case.
The output port sinks the voltage.

So for $10 I now have software control of the spindle. M03/M05

Hope this helps some one.
