Hey,
I was running a small winding CNC lathe with mach 3, DMM breakout board DMB4250, computer with windows XP and parrallel port. Z axis is hooked up to the z-axis on the BOB, and the spindle was hooked up to the x-axis and would run with a Gcode S##M03.
My issue is the computer was starting to act up and decided to upgrade the computer. I built a computer with 64 bit Windows 10, ordered an ESS Smooth stepper from CNC4PC so i could use the Ethernet cable. I am able to move the z-axis with the hotkeys, but cant get the spindle to turn like it did before. The x-axis will turn the spindle if i use the x-axis hotkey, but if i run a G code S### M03 nothing happens. On the mach 3 diagnostic is says the spindle is on, and have output1 flashing, but the spindle does not turn as a lathe.
Am i missing something or do i have to write a macro to "swap" the x -axis to a spindle?
Thank you.
