Spindle Control problem with Siemens Sinamics V20
« on: April 12, 2023, 03:27:08 AM »
Hello all
I am trying to control the spindle via sinamics v20 with Mach3 USB

Connected the 5V pin, AVI and ACM to V20's pin1 pin2 and pin5(0V) on same order as documented on most of the forums and videos.
I can run the spindle on manual mode.
From software I tried pwm and step configs to test..
On both I can read the Hz value on V20s screen so they are communicating.. I measured 24V on output pin of mach3 which is connected to DI1 port of V20 (on V20 config both motor control and frequency set to terminal mode 2) but no move on spindle..
I tried to override the output pin by using a jumper cable between V20s 24V and D1C pins but again no movement.

Can somebody describe the cable and v20 and mach3 software setting for making it work??

Actually solved most of it..
Now I can turn on and off the v20 and spindle from mach3 software..
The problem is I can not control the motor speed as I want to..

With an avometer i can measure the voltage changes beteen 0 and 10v when I increase the speed on software, but I guess due to pwm the speed that v20 varies...
Is there a way to change the config from pwm to something constant?
