issue after Mach4 4.2.0.5036 upgrade...
« on: March 26, 2023, 12:16:55 PM »
I have the 7766 using Clearpath servos on a G0704. Updated the Mach4 and now when I attempt
to use the MPG (from Vital Systems), the movement is very choppy ending in a following error... all 3 axis, but under MDI it's smooth. I adjusted the accel/decel and the RAS antijerk... moves smooth under MDI, not MPG.
So, I went back to the previous version of Mach and all the MPG issues went away...
On a side note, with the newest one, I could get the HLFB to work and e-stop the system if a servo alarmed out, same lua code will not run with the older version... I will not run it until the alarms work.
What's up with the newest version of Mach4?
Thanks,
Mark :)

Hello Mark,

On the MPG tab in the Control window of Mach4, do you have values set for the Accel and Velocity? We have seen that prior to Mach4 v5000, having these set to 0 would still produce smooth motion, but after v5000 these need to be set properly.

oops, I misread your posting. they were set at 50% accel and 100% vel... it calms down at about 10 and 75... it makes it very laggy and without care, the table continues to move long after the MGP has stopped... this is using mach4 .5036

Just a note to anyone reading this thread, I'm now dealing with Mach Support for this issue.
I'll post what I find out...

I couldn't get V.5036 or V.5070 to allow the MPG to work.
I did get the LUA script to run with V.4612, which did allow the MPG to work correctly.
I guess I'll check the updates as they come out to see if they correct the MPG issue.
