Mach3, EC300 and Laser
« on: February 28, 2023, 08:32:46 AM »
Hello,
i have a EC300 board connected to a CNC with Laser.
I started using M3 (M3S0 and M3S10000) command and i immediately ended up with the problem where burns started to appear on the surface due to M3 being to slow in performing the power modulation.
I've read that M10P1 and M11P1 might help in speeding the laser on/off transition if right before an axis movement but something is not 100% clear to me.

Currently i have a "spindle" configured on pin1 but the board doesnt have a "switch" (to my knowledge) just a pin where a PWM between 0-10V is coming out.
If i now set M11P1 for example like this

is that supposed to turn on the laser?
Will the Mach3 perform a "logical/sw" switch or shall i really put my PWM behind a relay and use a different pin e.g. M11P2 (where #2 is the output for the relay)?

I'm planning to use these as reference

or do i require something like this, if so which one?
Is the only difference the logic inversion?

Since i have 0-10V i doubt this can work for me

So does it mean i need a different output e.g. Output#2 if my spindle PWM is on Output#1 ?
I also have a Laser with 0-10V Analog input, how can i achieve the same?

Unfortunately, the EC300 is Digital Dream aka Novosun product and is not supported by this forum. This thread relates:  https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=24331.msg171954#msg171954

What does the board have to do with my question or the overall behaviour of Mach3? I have a license dated 2007 when Mach3 was at version 1.
EC300 or not I'm trying to get some insights on how it is supposed to work

I think you need to contact Novusun for details of how their EC300 is supposed to work with Mach3.
