Working With SoftMax Limits
« on: January 02, 2023, 06:36:45 PM »
I am trying to cut channels in my CNC spoilboard to install T-Slots. I did not expect this to be difficult but have wasted more time than I care to admit trying to make it work. I keep getting stopped with an error message "X axis commanded over SoftMax". I am using Aspire to generate the toolpath and I have probably tried 10 different approaches to resolve this without success. My spoilboard is 61" wide, but I need to travel farther than the width so I can cut a clean channel. The machine can do it, but the software will not allow it. I have to believe there is a simple solution for this, but I am an admitted newbie and have yet to figure this out. I only have one T-Slot channel in the file figuring I can easily duplicate it once it is running correctly.
FYI;
Aspire version 11.016
AVID Post Processor 3.0
Router AVID Pro 60120

KCA,

Go to Configure then Control.
Go to the Homing/Softlimits tab.
Turn off Soft Enable.

Thank you for your help! Your solution was what I was looking for. I tried it and successfully cut all the channels I needed.
