Tram My Taig - Cheap

Can anyone here suggest a cheap way to tram  my Taig 2019? I don't want to go spend a bunch of money on tramming equipment.

You can bend a piece of wire and put it in the spindle. Then do an auto tool touch off in the 4 posotions and compare DRO values. I'd buy a dial indicator at the least, but have tramed dril press tables with the wire trick. Not the best IMHO, but you ask for cheap.  :)

I have a digital caliper that opens to about 12" or so. That should work in place of the dial shouldn't it?
