Z Axis not so random, random variance
« on: December 19, 2022, 12:34:28 PM »
Recently the z axis started randomly changing mid cut.  Random in the fact that I can't find a change in the gcode, not so random in the fact that it repeats in the same place every time I run the file.  All is tight, secure and moving freely.  I'm using a new 60 degree v bit on melamine board with 1mm cut depth.  DRO shows exactly what it should, but cutter is not where it is supposed to be. It comes, it goes....it comes it goes.  The Z lifts for 20-25mm then returns to where it should be.  Z always zeros perfectly afterwards.

Check your "safe-Z" settings.
