Hicon Integra 7766 (old version) Following Error issue
« on: September 26, 2022, 09:04:22 AM »
Hello,

I'm using Mach4 and Hicon Ingtegra 7766 controller. The controller drives IHSV57 china servos. It works well except in occassional situation (like few times probing with very slow speed) when I get 'Following Error exceed limits' message and the hole system is starting to make unusual hard moving. If I reset a controller everything is fine again.

I'm not using any kind of feedback so I'm wondering how is it possible to generate following errors? It doesn't help to set max following error very high. Trying to set zero (sholud ignore following errors) is not working either in this case I will have following error by each move(??)

Configuration:
Win10
Mach4 build 4612
Hicon Integra 7766 (older version) Firmware 2.24

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any advice!

Please update the firmware, mach4, and the plugin.  I believe v2.24 is many many years old.

Thanks for reply! I have 4.24 firmware (sorry I say it wrong in my first post), the Mach4 version is newest one and coresponding plugin is also in place.
I have the same behavior with older firmware version, 4.18. Maybe it's time to update, but I would like to know why is this happening.

Intermittent problems like these can be fixed by Earthing the controller.

Please connect Earth Ground to GND on J1.

I did it as suggested (connection Earth to GND on J1) but unfortunately issue remains :-(

...and screenshots

I can allways repreduce this. It's simple to run touchoff few times and I will get this error. Every movement after that point is very unpredicable and scary harsh. I have to reset Hicon (and only Hicon, nothing else) and the movement will be again as expected but in that case I need to run homing again and everything else is also lost. The worst of all, I do not understand how is this possible withot feedback.....

It sounds like a configuration error. We can continue our conversation through email. Please send us your Mach4 profile.

Instructions on how to package profile
1.   Open mach4 using the profile you are working with.
2.   On mach4 menu go to Help->Support->Package Current Profile
3.   Save package to desired location.
4.   Email the package as attachment.
