ERROR: Following Error Limit Exceeded on Axis #. Servo Disarmed
« on: February 21, 2022, 04:11:29 PM »
We recently had to reinstall windows 7 to address an unrelated software problem. Before reinstalling we imaged the drive with all of our C:\MACH3 directory then restored after windows 7 was installed.

Since the reinstall HiCON is connecting and successfully communicating, but whenever we try to jog or move any of our 3 axis's the servo's will nudge a few units then stall with the following error: Following Error Limit Exceeded on Axis #. Servo is disarmed. We checked our Home and Softlimits they are exactly the same as they were before the computer was reinstalled. We also enabled debug logging on HiCON there seem to be a corresponding error ERROR: HiCON MPE detected.

What else can we look at that might help address this issue?

Hi,
Following error occurs when the commands to a servo are not obeyed and the distance between where the servo actually is, and where Mach commanded it to be, exceeds your programmed threshold.

Is the encoder hooked up properly?. If the encoder is not hooked up or hooked up backwards then the controller will have no idea if the servo moved or not and will very quickly generate a Following Error.

Thanks for the explaining the error in greater detail, the servos and encoders haven't changed and worked fine before we reinstalled windows and restored mach3 from backup. We checked the Home Motor/SoftLimits they are identical to what they were before we reinstalled the operating system. Would there be any intermediate configuration that might have been stored in the registry we might be missing?
