Knee mill retrofit using existing DC servo motors and drives
« on: November 22, 2021, 06:41:51 AM »
i am looking at an upgrade on my mill as the old Anilam 3000m system has given up. I am looking at keeping the existing motors and drive, just upgrading the cnc computer system to Mach 3 or 4. The drive and motors are Indramat 3 TRM 2 Control Amplifier and Indrmat
DC servo motors. Can someone advise me on what is required to upgrade please. I would like to have 4 axis control.I know the amplifier uses a -/+ 0 to 10 volt to control speed and direction. Other than a pc, mach 3 or 4 what else would be required?
The machine is a Beaver mill 3 axis with ball screws already fitted and rotary encoders on the Z and Y axis and a linear encoder on the X axis.
Thanks
Mark
