drilling cycles

I think I already know the answer to this but dont see the harm in asking. Is there any way to use canned drilling cycles for a fourth axis. that is instead of giving the control software XY positions before drilling giving it XY and A positions. I have a lot of holes to drill around a cylinder. Im guessing the answer is no though.

Hi Chris, the drill cycles will work just fine with A axis. You just have to call the cycle and then add in your A positioning for each hole just like you would do for the xy axis. Remember though that whatever axis is the tube center line needs to NOT move. OR you will have moved off the centerline. Just move the linear axis for tube length and the angular one for the tube circumference.

After you have finished with the cycle make sure you cancel it with a G80 or you will be drilling holes everwhere you move(;-)

(;-) TP
