MACH 3 losing XYZ
« on: October 04, 2007, 02:23:06 PM »
Having just updated to Mach 3 after purchasing a new pc running XP pro, we have discovered Mach3 likes to lose its x/y/z settings during a program run... it will be going along then all of a sudden it just loses it (always of course to a detrimental effect) this has caused our overages on the milling job to reach unacceptable levels. is there any suggestions as to why this would be or should we be investigating finding new controller software?

You mean your machine is out of position and mach is reporting in position?

Sounds like lost steps, what is your machine, which drives, motor tuning settings?

If steppers.   They will take some time to setup correctly, and in a way that they are always reliable.

I run mach 7 days a week, often more than 12 hours  a day, and we don't lose position.

More information required, then we can do what we can to help you.
