Machine setup problem
« on: April 06, 2020, 06:56:12 AM »
Hi,
I had to replace my computer as the previous one stopped working.
I have installed Mach3 onto my new computer, set all the ports and pins up the same as on the previous computer, which ran the program fine.
When I try to move my CNC nothing happens, I have been pressing the keys on the keyboard as before but there is no movement on any axis.

There is power getting to the circuit board.
My old computer was running on Windows XP, my new one on Windows 7 home premium.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Thanks, John

Hi,
is your Windows 7 Home Premium a 32bit or a 64 bit OS?

Machs parallel port will NOT run on ANY 64bit OS.

Hi,
so I am presuming that you are running Machs parallel port?
Have you installed it correctly with the mid-process re-boot as is required in the installation instructions?
If so what does driverTest.exe tell you...specifics here, not just good or excellent......we need to know the jitter.
