Modify Mach4 Wizards?
« on: January 22, 2020, 11:40:04 AM »
Is there any way to modify the canned cycle Wizards in Mach4?
I am working on a Boxford TCL125 that has a tool turret and a rear slant bed.
The existing wizards all put a M03 and a T0101 in the G code.
I need to change those to M04 and Tnnnn if at all possible. M03 is good for drilling but for turning I need M04.

Hi,
this post should be in the Mach4 General Discussion board, no doubt tweakie will shift it.

I don't believe so. They are shipped as compiled code. They are proprietary code.
If you approach NFS with a specific proposal and sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with them
they may well give you the source code. NFS is generally supportive of users modifying and/or
expanding Mach4 to suit their purposes. On the other hand NFS has to protect its intellectual property.

The lathe canned cycles came from Mach Motion.  It was their donation to the hobby world and we thank them.  But the source code is indeed closed and signing an NDA with us is useless because we don't have the source code at all.

Note that if you have an industrial license, the lathe canned cycles will not function.  Because it is a Hobby only feature.
