interesting topic!
I don't know the answer, we await more experts.
what hardware do you use? I use CSMIO / IP-S
have you tried to work with the G83 cycle hole?
did you find anomalies with the G76?

I was trying to machine a shaft 1.0 diameter and turn it down to .500 and one in length in -Z .I put a start point of x-.5 ,z 0.0 a finish point of x -.250 z-1.0 .And the software said that the vales for x and z are incorrect for id/od .I changed the values for a top turret and it gave me a code .So the routine is set up for a top turret machine very strange that it wont let have a boot turret?

In your tool table there is drop down column name is "Direction" you need to set all the tools you are using to Primary.  Some reason it defaults to the wrong selection when they are blank.
