CNC conversion

Here are some pictures of the case that I am building as part of a CNC conversion.  The case was originally a Full tower CPU.  The plastic escutcheon panel was removed and discarded.  A new front panel was milled from a piece of 2.5mm aluminum plate.  For the rear panel,  the old fittings were cut out and a new panel milled to suit.

Here is a description of the panel;
Top middle buttion is the emergency stop.
The key switch tp the left provides the main power to the case
The green button on the right is the CPU power
The two leds on the left are the power light and fuault indicators
Two USB ports and another two leds on the right arefor the CPU power and HDD lights
The next two rows are the X,Y,Z,A, setp and direction leds
The 5 pin socket is a rs232 port to be used for a MPG
And finally an inlet fan

The panel is still to be labelled
 



Here is a view of the rear panel. 
At the top is the exhaust fan followerd by a row of 3 sockets.  One will be used for the VFD control output,  the others are for future use.
The next row has two USB ports for the keyboard and mouse and the SVGA output
The next four rows are for the X,Y,Z,A outputs, The first socket is the limit inputs, followed by the encoder inputs and finally the motor outputs.




And finally an inside view of the case with the fitout just starting.  Here the 240volt wiring has commenced.
