« on: August 07, 2007, 08:24:29 AM »
HI EVERYONE

I BOUGHT THIS ROUTER FROM " TRIBAL MARKETING" AND I CAN'T GET IT UP AND RUNNING
THEY HAVE VERY LITTLE TECH SUPPORT AND THE LITTLE THEY HAVE IS NOT HELPFUL........
I WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS SOFTWARE AND IT LOOKS PRETTY GOOD
BUT I NEED TO KNOW,  IS THIS COMPADIBLE WITH THE ROUTER I HAVE?

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS SOFTWARE WILL WORK?
AND WHAT STEPS DO I NEED TO TAKE TO GET MY MACHINE UP AND RUNNUNG

THANKS
TIM

Hey,

I retrofitted a table just like that in NC, it had "Chinese" Drives in it.  What I had to do was, get a Mach computer and a Break out board, (I used Ed Gilberts Accustep board), plus I used an 8 bit Opto isolation board of his for the Optos on the table. I think there was only ONE opto per axis, and it did Homing and both end limits per axis, it was 12v. (thus the opto board, so mach could read its state).  If your table is the same, you have some kind of VFD drive for the spindle that is controlled from the drive face, and Step/Dir Stepper Drives for the axis, (4 of them), the two on the Y axis (long axis), are slaved together by the Wireing being daisy chained from one drive to the other NOT in the software.

Be very carefull, if this is the same guy that sold the table to the guy I am discussing above the tables are in poor mechanical shape and he has been under many investigations for Fraud.

Hey Brian,
You mentioned a DSP controller, ive seen a couple of machines that come with that. What is it? is it any good? is it better to run that kind of machine with mach3 instead of the dsp?
Regards
Fernando

DSP is a nasty little device that can run a router.. it is a hand held device that sends down up to 25KHz and there is a 3 line LCD... You can't see the toolpath and it has bad CV :( if you get one I don't think you will like it :)

I knew there was something fishy about those DSP.
One question though, are they closed loop when used in coonjunction with a servo? a lot of chinese made routers have these DSPs, but they charge it as an upgrade. I guess they must have file size limitations also. They say it is better because it is easier to use. I think they use mach 3 if you dont use a DSP.
Thanks Brian
and sorry for hijacking this thread.
Now Tim, im sure that if you can provide more information about your machine we all might be able to help.

I have a similar router, larger, more rigid model than that. I have the DSP controller and use it. It is a very nice control, very reliable, machine easily cuts at 800 in/min, rapids over 1200. Yes, there is no graphic display on the control, but if you are so inclined to need to see one, you can leave it plugged in to the USB on a PC and watch the thing on screen. I use my CAM for the graphic cut display normally. Storage is a huge 32 meg, I have ran files as large as 4.2 meg, this is a text file, remember, and I have run it non stop for over 100 hours without problems. Servo drives are 90 volt on mine, which is part of the reason it has good speed. I have never had a problem with CV. I imported mine directly from the factory in China. I can help with issues, questions if needed, let me know.

That is cool that you have a DSP :)  How do you like the CV of the DSP???? I was watching them run in Vegas and they looked like they needed a bit of work :(  It could have been that the machine was not setup well (I Have seen that in the past)

Thanks for the info
