MACH4 (CSMIO/IP-S) Motor growl
« on: October 15, 2018, 06:36:42 AM »
I've just upgraded my AXYZ router with Mach 4, CSMIO/IP-S controller and DM806T drives. The motors are the same. I entered the same steps per inch in Mach4 as used in old controller. The IPM displayed is approximately half of what the actual is. Also I can jog home the machine at any speed and runs smooth. When I try to adjust the counts per minute in MACH4 under the motor setup the machine runs smooth in JOG but when I home the machine barely moves and growles when driving. Any ideas what needs to be done? Does anyone have experience with the CSMIO/IP-S that knows of something I need to do in it's set-up?

Make sure your Drivers are set to the same resolution. I.E. Microsteps, which I run at 1600, I believe it is switches 5 and 8 on. the rest are off. again, every machine is different so go through the initial motor calibration process to make sure that your steps are moving you the correct distance!

Good luck and let us know how things go!
