Mach3 registry errors after new install
« on: September 27, 2018, 05:19:59 PM »
Hi

My years old Mach3 workhorse Pentium PC broke down and I'm now setting up a new one on an old HP dx2250 with a new XP installation. I get the errors below in the XP EventViewer/Applications. Someone please tell me what that is about and what DLL files are referred to and not getting loaded. I run a legit and valid Mach3 licence so I wonder about that "faulty registration" at the end.  I don't know yet if this new installation works when connected in the machine as I want to get everything ready at home before carrying it down to my workshop, running "cold" seems to work OK.

ERRORS in  XP EventViewer/Applications. The viewer says they relate to Mach :

Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D}
and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.

Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE}
and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.

I never checked if these appeared in the previous PC.

Thanks,

/risto

Try re-installing Mach3

Thanks but I have done that, doesn't help, but maybe I'll do that again later. For now I'm finding interesting stuff about those DLL IDs from Google search, it may well be that they actually aren't Mach related at all despite what eventviewer claims, I certainly hope so.

Don't know why but so often things start to unravel when you ask after first fighting in vain. Those GUIDs are not Mach related at all. I had set my computer name to be Mach which distracted me in the EventViewer.  ???

I'll quote the solution here as so many uninstall the IE8 and may experience the same. Can confirm that this works:

"Events displayed in Event log after uninstalling Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP SP2 or SP3 or Windows server 2003 SP2 or later: If you view the Event log in Windows XP SP2 or SP3 you might see event ID 1041 from Userenv after uninstalling Internet Explorer 8
The message will be "Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for {7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE} / {CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration."
The cause is that some of the Internet Explorer 8 registry keys were not removed when it was uninstalled. These keys do not affect the operation of Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7.
To resolve this error, delete the following registry keys:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions\]
{7B849a69-220F-451E-B3FE-2CB811AF94AE} = Internet Explorer User Accelerators"
{CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} = Internet Explorer Machine Accelerators

Thanks !
