G32 funny feedrate issue
« on: August 06, 2018, 10:25:30 AM »
We are having an issue with G32 on one of our lathes here at the shop.  Using the HiCON Integra and an encoder on the spindle.
Using G32 it is leaving the last couple of threads longer than the first several, it is like the TPI has been adjusted at the end of the threading cycle.
When I was thinking about that, I set the lathe to G61 (Exact Stop) thinking that the feedrate may be adjusting for the next move.  G61 with a look ahead of 1 line didn't fix the issue.  But I did watch the feedrate, about 3/16 from the end of the threading I noticed it jumps from 18 to 22.
We have 1 other lathe that we run G32 on with absolutely no issues, also using the HiCON Integra with an encoder on the spindle.
Has anyone else had similar issues or could this be a motion controller issue?

This issue still occurs when I'm using G76 as well.

I also posted this to the HiCON Third Party Software Threads.

Are you running steppers or servos?

Steppers on this lathe.
Cutting feedrate is well below rapid traverse of the motor as well.

The issue was with my Plugin Setup.
I had the polling frequency set too low.
On the HiCON Integra, I set the polling frequency to 100 and it fixed our problem.
I am using G76 now and not G32.
