LCAM 2 offsets
« on: July 24, 2007, 03:15:36 PM »
I just updated to Lcam2 and I'm still trying to understand all the features. I have been trying to use offset and pocketing to cut out an inlay and then a pocket to inlay into.

When I select outside it offsets to the inside. When I select inside, it appears to do nothing. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Attached are my lcam project and my .dxf file if that helps.

Thanks,
Van

Hi, Van

Try the 07 25 07 update its much better.

I'm using .000001 in setup load options Connection line tol. setting.

In-out is still backwards hear.

In mill mode, Only having problem with outside offset Square not finishing one corner Radius.

Lathe mode seems better still having problems with Arcs. As mill improves lathe improves also.

Thanks, Art & Brian, For burning the mid-night oil.

Thanks, Chip

I only see the 07 12 07 release on the download page. Where can I find the 07 25 version?
I'll give the load options a try and see if that helps.

Thanks,
Van

I just changed the setup load option as you suggested and got a pretty nice outside offset as well as inside one. Thanks.

Do you know how that option works?

Hi, Van

The only way I can tell it's new is the "Check Hear" turns back to Blue, I download it and add a Date to the file name, (Mach3R.... 07 24 07).

Helps me keep track, As far as the .000001 it has something to do with load tolerance for objects, Helps with smaller objects.

Hope this helps, Chip
