SXCNC 6040 mach 3 setup (JP-3163B v.3.9) (Need help!!)
« on: June 01, 2018, 06:34:53 PM »
Hi guys i need help !

i got my 6040 cnc yesterday, and it came without any manual for mach 3 setup included. I got one CD with the manual for USBcnc and a pirated copy of usbcnc aswell. Since i have a registered mach 3 version and i really like the programm i would like to continue using mach 3.
I just got a parallel port to usb cable without the parallel port to parallel port from controller to computer.
That was strange. And it also didnt come with a pirated mach 3 copy like they usually do.
Previously i had a 3020 and a3040 cnc that ran great on my computer.
Since i dont have any documentations for pins and ports setup, i really just left the previous options that actualy seem to be the same.
Like for example:
X Axis - Step /Dir - 2/3
Y Axis - Step/Dir - 4/5 .....
It will not move! Doesnt matter what i do it doesnt move. The E-stop can not connect to mach 3 and the z probe doesnt work aswell Does anyone haveany advice how to get this thing running?

BoB is the JP-3163B v.3.9. (Inside the black box is the NOWFOREVER VFD aswell) I have tried the motors with my other controller box of the 3040 and they work. Ill attach a video so you can see what i did.

Hi,
you are going to have to get information about your controller from the supplier.

Do you have a manual for it?

Thank you for your fast reply. I was allready trying with the parallel to parallel port cabel. And i found allready the correct pin layout for this card. But it wont move. When i turn on the machine, the stepper motors seems to block themself which is a good sign. If they do does that mean that they should move aswell?? Do the output signals have to be set correctly in mach 3 aswell?

port 1
Pin 2: X Axis Step (active low)
Pin 3: X Axis Dir (active low)
Pin 4: Y Axis Step (active low)
Pin 5: Y Axis Dir (active low)
Pin 6: Z Axis Step (active low)
Pin 7: Z Axis Dir (active low)

I meant the "Config", "Ports and Pins", and tabs, "Output Signals".
The normal pins and ports are allready set like you have mentioned.
And the supplier is not big of a help. He allways try to tell me to use some pirated USBcnc software instead. I also asked about a partial refund but he is unwilling to either contact the factory about the problem or give me some actual refund...

Hey, i was able to dort out the problem. Its funny, but the Parallel port Cable was defected.... I bought a new one hooked it up, and voila its working now. The only thing which is a little annoying is that there is white noise comming out of the stepper motors....
